Who is my clientele?

Based on my personal interests and professional experience within forensic psychology, I have a lot of expertise in working with people in the areas of criminal or delinquent  behaviour such as abuse, violence, stalking, molestation, burglary/theft, life crimes,...

I am willing to work with victims, perpetrators and family members with any kind of questions, who want to deal with certain incidents, who want to make a new life for themselves, who want to stop abuse ...

However, my vision and approach also allows me to help people with all kinds of issues and struggles.

Examples of issues:

  • Dealing with painful and traumatic experiences

  • Physical and emotional responses: fear, powerlessness, anger, sadness, exhaustion,...

  • Dealing with  guilt and shame
  • Accepting the past, present and future

  • Detention harm
  • Difficulties at work

  • Lack of self-confidence

  • Feeling anxious and insecure

Coaching where possible, treatment if necessary.

The duration of the therapy depends on various factors. Psychological support, coaching or treatment only has to last until the client feels able to continue the journey alone.

I am convinced that not everyone needs long-term treatment. The word 'treatment' implies a certain degree of 'seriousness'. Perhaps it doesn't feel all that serious to justify 'treatment'.

If coaching or counselling seems insufficient, treatment will certainly be initiated.

Frontline psychological care

Since 2022, terms and condituons concerning frontlinne psychological care has changed. The service is even more focusing on people with an increased risk for psychological distress or sufforing an onset of psychological distress.

First-line psychological care comprises pathways of short in duration and/or low  in intensity, which contribute to maintaining or regaining general psychological well-being by supporting resilience and autonomy. It is recommended when you experience a vulnerability or difficulty that has an impact on your psychological well-being.

From April 1st 2022 onwards, it is no longer possible to start new counseling processes until there is more certainty about continuation and conditions from 1 May 2022 onwards.
